My professional life has been all about making pictures. I majored in Studio Art at Yale as an undergraduate, and received my Masters of Fine Arts from Columbia University. I’ve taught photography and I exhibit my artwork in galleries, as well as write about art, lecture, and curate exhibitions.
I've been photographing weddings for more than six years, and continue to feel honored when chosen to document this event for a couple. Wedding celebrations are an important part of the cycle of life and filled with the emotions that make us most human: love and joy. I approach photography as a storyteller and that narrative impulse is revealed in my interpretation of your wedding day. Because each couple is unique, I keep posed pictures to a short family session, and otherwise photograph you and your guests in a candid style throughout the day.
Home base has been Los Angeles since the fall of 2004. My photography career has brought me to weddings as diverse as a celebrity couple in Puerto Rico to a generations-old family farm in Central California. I am a member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association, the top selective national organization for wedding photographers working in a naturalistic style, as well as PPA, the industry source for professionals. I keep abreast of trends in the rapidly changing field of photography through these groups and through educational seminars and lots of reading and testing.
